Even though I took a few days away from my writing recently and I’ll be doing so again soon, my writing always comes with me. My hero and heroines pay no mind when I tell them I’m on vacation… leave me alone. So, I always make sure to tuck a notepad and pen in my purse. Leaving some things to memory is not wise as I have learned through the years. Whether young or old, an idea, a plot, a scene can be pushed aside and not seem as clear or exciting after an endlessly busy day.
It’s one of the reasons I have so many notebooks… journal type, composition, binder, you name it I have it and I’m not afraid to use them! Big, small, narrow, totes to match the sizes, (don’t get me started on totes, another addiction of mine) and pens, pens, and more pens. I’m like a kid in a toy shop when I enter an office supply store or the notebook section of any store that carries them. I always tell myself that I don’t need anymore, but like my hero and heroines I pay myself no mind.
So with notebook in hand I take off for another vacation and who knows what I’ll fill the pages with this time. Or what new notebook I’ll return with.
Pics of a few of my notebooks!
I was so impressed with the first two stories. I’m so waiting for the final book of this series. If you have read To Love a Highlander and Embraced by the Highlander, Like me you’ll have to get Donna Fletcher’s Last book in this series, The Demon Lord It’s got to be great. So looking forward to this book come this Spring.
It always makes my day to hear how much readers enjoy my books. Thanks so much for taking the time to let me know, Nancy!
Hey Donna,
I saw on FB that you have the flu. Hope you are feeling better soon:) Eat lots of soup and stay hydrated.
Thanks, Tina.
I love soup, especially chicken soup so that’s not hard to do. What is difficult is not writing. A full day of writing that is since I’ve managed to squeeze in some writing here and there. I am feeling better and will be back to my old schedule soon.
