With most authors having a newsletter and various book websites offering daily news about discount books, a person can be bombarded with emails. There are also endless blogs to read, not to mention social media. It takes time to get through it all and you can imagine the time it takes to keep up on it all for an author.
I’m wondering what you, as a reader, finds most helpful in keeping up with a favorite author. Do you look forward to author newsletters? Do you read author blogs? Do you visit author websites? Do you follow authors on social media (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.)? Do you frequent Goodreads? Do you join your favorite authors’ private Facebook groups? I must say that I do enjoy reaching out to you as I do in my email/newsletter. I feel more like I’m corresponding with friends. So if this type of engagement is high on your list do let me know.
I’d be ever so grateful if you could consider the questions I’ve posed and let me know what is most helpful to you in keeping up with your favorite authors. And for taking time out of your own busy day to do me this favor, when you leave your response in the comment box, you’ll be entered to win a $25.00 Amazon Gift Card. I’ll pick the winner May 1st.
5/5 CONGRATS TO THE WINNER OF THE AMAZON GIFT CARD… M. MORTON!
AND TO EVERYONE WHO RESPONDED TO MY QUESTIONS… YOU ARE THE BEST! IT HAS BEEN A BIG HELP TO ME!
Hugs
Donna
I read there websites, see there posts on facebook often when I am on smile.amazon getting a print book I often go to the authors that I am currantly reading their series and see if a new one is out. Or if I enjoyed their books look up to see what they have new out!
I love receiving your emails. I sometimes forget to go to websites to look up information. Receiving your emails helps remind me since often times life gets in the way. I also follow you on Facebook and I enjoy reading your posts there!
I like the newsletter I can read when I have time. I also look at Facebook ( probably too much)
I look forward to your newsletter and the release date of a new book. Historical romances are my favorite books to read. Thanks for sharing your gift of writing with us!
I love reading your newsletters and it also reminds me to check for new books of yours. I don’t use Facebook much and am not active on social media sites.
Email works best for me. I do visit your website off and on and I also follow authors on Facebook. But receiving your email is best especially when you are releasing new books.
I follow on Goodreads and Amazon. I prefer newsletters. Sometimes I drop in on Facebook but I’m not a big fan of Facebook.
I love email newsletters a lot! I also follow you on Facebook! I really enjoy your books! Your newsletters and posts too!!
I enjoy receiving emails and I follow many authors on Instagram. Hope this helps !
prefer newsletters
Email, but I follow authors I like on Amazon & Goodreads
I prefer the emails….i prefer not to do Facebook and the like….i am more old fashion….I enjoy all your books by the way!
The emails of your newsletter are my favorite . I don’t use social media at all. I follow on Amazon and Bookbub
I like the newsletters.❤️
I prefer the newsletter. It keeps me updated on the new releases. I’m not a big fan of social media.
I update myself by e-mails and I do go to some of my Fav authors websites periodically for updates too.
I enjoy the email newsletters. They are my main source of news. My second source is facebook postings. I seldom read blogs.
Donna, I always look forward to your emails/newsletter! I’m a very busy woman and don’t have time to look at all the social media out there. It would take too much of my time to delve into such things and besides it would rob me of my reading time. I love your work and will support you however I can.
I love receiving and reading your newsletters. I visit author websites and use Goodreads on a regular basis. I do not use Twitter or Instagram. And this is the first time for me to blog!. Thank you so much for all the great stories you have shared with us, historical romance readers! I am especially excited about your new series, Highland Intrigue! The prequel was great!
I read newsletters from authors like you whose books I read regularly. Others I skim. I go to your website to see what new books may have been released.
I look forward to the monthly newsletters, follow authors on Book Bub, and check out Websites of both regular authors and new ones to get extended information.
I like the news letter the best. I occasionally look up or I follow on Amazon. I will check out your Facebook though.
I like receiving your emails. I don’t always have time to go and look up things on other sites, so the emails work perfectly for me.
I enjoy your writing and appreciate your asking for your readers’ feedback in a narrative rather than a survey. I am probably an exception to the rule, but I don’t follow blogs or spend a lot of time on websites because my day is so full of obligations. I am sorry I can’t be of help in this. All I can say is that I only look to see what the next book is titled and look forward to reading it.
I Like to receive the emails (and jokes) and I visit the website to make sure I haven’t missed anything
I like getting emails from one of my favorite authors.
I personally love getting email from my favs. I like to know what they are working on and when there might be a new book. Always interested in that.
I keep up with my favorite authors mostly by their newsletters/emails. Sometimes I will go to the web site if I’m looking for book order or to see if there are books I missed. The only thing I use goodreads and bookbub for are posting reviews.
I look forward to your emails and usually waiting for the next book in the series to read.
I am not on social media. It is just not my thing. My preference is newsletters, author websites, and blog posts. I enjoy your newsletters and find the timing just right.
I love your newsletter, your emails and the info for the release date of your books. Not very active on social média. Love your books.
Hi Donna, if I haven’t told you lately, I love reading your books. In truth I love reading period pieces set in Scotland. So yes, I love and read lots of of other authors books set in mid evil Scotland. I mostly would love to hear about upcoming projects that you’re working on and what’s coming out soon as well as where you draw your inspiration. I imagine it can be difficulty for an author who writes so many books not to make the characters sound the same. So for me, other than knowing you’re doing well busy at your computer with your next project, that’s what I’m most interested in.
I loved the joke! I like emails.
enjoy your newsletter! Life gets in the way, I understand. Keep up the good work, correspond when you can.
I like the newsletters but I do Goodreads as well
I keep up with you on Facebook and when you mention the blog or newsletter I go to it.
I look forward to your emails! I prefer hearing from you. I love your personal thoughts like painting, plants, etc. Youre like us with the exception you write amazing books! When im reading my emails, i save yours for last hoping for news on my favorite series, Cree and Dawn.
You’re the best!
I prefer emails, I am on facebook, instagram, bookbub, and goodreads, I follow lots of authors on all
I love authors newsletters and I love your jokes also.
I really enjoy when an author has a private Facebook group to join, I find I receive the most updates this way and they can be really fun! I’ll also sign up for emails and follow on goodreads as well.
I often will read the newsletters the authors send along with stalking them on social media. I enjoy reading all their posts as well as those who comment or contribute. Having an author answer my emails or posts is a high for me. I admit I’m a fan girl when they do. ❤️?
I personally like reading the emails. I don’t go on goodread that often. I am not into blogging, so I don’t check blogs out. I do go on Facebook a lot though. I prefer email.
I like emails newsletters, is my preference.
I love getting your emails, about your upcoming books and I absolutely love your books.
I love receiving your emails with the joke. And I also follow you on Facebook
Facebook & Newsletter for me.
I read the newsletter and the website.
Hi Donna, I enjoy getting your newsletter and particularly look forward to news of new book releases etc. I don’t particularly want the newsletters I receive to bother taking space recommending books. I don’t follow blogs, Face Book, or any other social media and I don’t really bother with Goodreads. I visit author websites directly, including your website often to check out the reading order of series, read what you are doing or are working on, and to see what is new or newsworthy. I am Canadian, have a Kindle with over 1500 books on it, and purchase all of my reading material from Amazon.com because of the availability of books. I have purchased everyone of your books. Thank you for the continued entertainment. Cheers.
I prefer newsletters to keep me up to date as I don’t use social media
My preference is email newsletters. Thank you.
