If you’ve read my bio you know that my love of romance books began with the young adult romances (they were nowhere near what young adult romances are today) my mom so generously bought me when I was a young. But it was the first adult romance I read that truly captured my love of the genre.
The Foxes of Harrow by Frank Yerby had me enthralled and, of course, I had to watch the movie ( filmed before I was born) with Rex Harrison and Maureen O’Hara (though I would watch anything she was in).
So, you can imagine my excitement when I came across this Frank Yerby book in a local antique shop. I grabbed it and wouldn’t let go. I intend to enjoy every minute of reading it and be reminded of what started my love of romance books.
Hi, Donna. You are sure bringing back some memories for me. An older cousin loaned me a Frank Yerby book when I was a kid, A Woman Called Fancy. I thought it a little racy at the time. Things sure have changed. I mostly read Nancy Drew when young, Barbara Cartland in college and was introduced to Kathleen Woodiwiss when I started my family. I like a variety now but romance is still my favorite. Thanks for all your hard work.
Hi Martha,
I loved the Nancy Drew Mysteries and, of course, Kathleen Woodiwiss was a favorite as well. And like you, I like a variety of books but there is one thing about romances that tops the list, you know there will always be a feel-good happy ending that puts a smile on your face. 🙂
I agree, Donna. I like the happy endings and especially the epilogues. Always nice to know how the couple is fairing. By the way, I am not reading your Highland Intrigue books yet. I really want to but am saving them until after the holidays. I plan to relax in the recliner with my dog and read. Do you know exactly when the third book will be out?
Right now, Martha, it looks like the third book will be available late Jan. 2022.
Thanks, Donna.
